My Story

Rewind to the late ’90s—a schoolkid in Worcester pushes shopping trolleys after school to fund 15 minutes of internet time. That was me, captivated by the digital world from the very first click.

Years later, after packing racks at Woolworths in Cape Town, my life took a turn when I landed a job as a Social Media Coordinator through a Gumtree ad posted by Gabi Traut of Traut Personnel. With little knowledge but boundless enthusiasm, I stepped into the world of digital marketing.

My big break came when I connected with Big Web Media, a cozy agency with just four people, including the owner, Charl Hoffman. Driven by curiosity, I interned with them during a month-long leave from Woolworths. Their small team dynamic was incredibly enriching, and before my internship ended, they offered me a full-time position! It was a dream come true, diving deep into SEO and digital strategies.

Around this time, life became even more exciting as I met my future wife. As we planned our future together, the financial pressures of starting a family nudged me towards new opportunities. This led me to Titan Digital, an Australian firm with an offshore operation in Cape Town’s vibrant Sea Point. At Titan, I scaled new heights in digital marketing, surrounded by a diverse team that fueled my growth further.

However, change was on the horizon again. Titan Digital was acquired by Roobix, another Australian company. One year into my tenure with Titan, Roobix became my new employer. The journey continued until October 2020, when the world began to recover from the pandemic, and companies started requiring employees to return to the office. At this crossroads, I decided to take control of my path and resigned from Roobix to start freelancing. Although it was a challenging start, and making ends meet seemed daunting, the word of mouth from those I helped grew. Slowly, this led to a sustainable business.
Today, my consultancy embodies all those rich experiences—a blend of passion, expertise, and genuine connections.

Back when I started, accessing the internet was a luxury, mostly done at internet cafes like Postnet where I first fell in love with the digital world. Today, it’s much more affordable—many places offer an hour of internet for just R10. It’s a virtual space where each client is welcomed with open arms, and every strategy is crafted with care.
